Journaling Ideas for Reflection and Goal Setting

Lately I'm finding that I want my weekly reviews to dive deeper.  However, I’m not ditching my current prompts. They work well and give me a good sense of completion each week, which is big, HUGE! (Any Pretty Woman fans out there?)

So what am I looking for?

To ask myself what I want each week, not just what did or didn’t get done. But I don’t want to step so far back that I feel like I’m setting new year goals each week.  I just want to touch base with my heart to make sure we’re still in line with each other. My head will just keep working away even if my heart is weary.  I don’t want to wait until I’m irritated, my husband misses me, or I get sick to realize I’ve been too busy or maybe too lazy.

Who has time for all that?

You might think that doing this kind of evaluation is too time consuming on a weekly basis.  I find that it’s a bigger waste of time to keep on doing what doesn’t work until the end of the month, quarter, or year before taking stock.  I also don’t want to deprive myself of that feeling of completion until the end of the month, quarter, or year. That feeling is a huge motivator for me, and reviewing each week highlights areas that are in need of improvement before they become huge obstacles.

I don’t want to keep this to myself, so if you are interested in a copy of my journaling prompts to keep you in line with your heart while also getting things done, just enter your email address below.  I will send it to you momentarily. Don’t worry - it’s free.
